Measuring crowd energy at live events was difficult without disrupting the experience or making audiences self-conscious.
Translate collective emotion into visual feedback without requiring instructions or direct interaction—allowing excitement to remain organic.
A real-time interactive wall using motion and sound inputs to visualize crowd excitement dynamically. The system responded to group behavior, amplifying energy through immersive audio-visual feedback.
Crowd energy is emotional, spontaneous, and social.
The solution was designed to amplify excitement without making people feel observed.
Instead of asking users to “perform,” the Excitometer passively translated movement and sound into visual feedback.
Kinect sensors captured collective motion, while audio input added emotional intensity. Unreal Engine translated this data into dynamic visuals that felt alive.
